This site is about (and run by) LunaWiki, a descendant of QwikiWiki ("the minimalist PHP wiki engine"). Although LunaWiki's highest priorities are flexibility and usability, minimalism comes only after that, it still keeps much of the modesty of its ancestor.

I originally set this site up (in 2005) to keep a record of my changes and make them available for fellow Qwiki hackers. It started as a bunch of adjustments to the cool QwikiWiki engine of David Barrett (original author) and Jeff Hotz (maintainer). But then I soon found myself seriously refactoring it under the hood, making change after change all over the code; so it has grown into a standalone project.

While I've implemented quite a few enhancements, I also tried to keep as much of QwikiWiki's lovely simplicity and intuitiveness, as I can. (E.g. its size is still reasonable: ~300K unpacked, about the same as QwikiWiki 1.5.2), also no extra dependencies introduced: you still just need plain vanilla PHP 4 or 5, however not older than 4.3.0 now.)

Thanks to the author of QwikiWiki, and its user/developer community for the nice piece of software and the inspiration!
